A Pair of Arrests in the Aftermath of London Heathrow ‘Pepper Spray’ Incident

Placeholder Heathrow Airport scene
The assault resulted in the partial shutdown of the Central Terminal Area tunnel and the Terminal 3 car park.

Two more people have been arrested related to a robbery at Heathrow Airport in which over twenty individuals were injured by what is thought to be an irritant spray, as stated by police.

A 24-year-old man, was arrested in Lambeth for suspected theft and assault and a 23-year-old woman was detained on suspicion of conspiring to commit a robbery. Both individuals are still being held, the force said.

These detentions follow a probe into an assault at the multi-level parking garage at Terminal 3 this past Sunday. Before the incident, a pair of female travelers were robbed of their luggage after getting out of a car park lift.

A three-year-old girl was among the those hurt during the incident. A total of five individuals went to hospital for treatment and have since been released.

Police arrested a man in his thirties on suspicion of robbery and assault near the location. He has since been released pending further inquiries as the investigation proceeds.

Authorities were called at approximately 8:10 in the morning GMT following reports of a number of people injured by a noxious substance thought to be pepper spray.

The assault - which police said was isolated and not considered terrorism - caused delays to rail services and the partial closure of the Central Terminal Area tunnel and the Terminal 3 parking facility briefly.
