The Animated Series' Creator Has Seen Fans' Season 2 Predictions — With Some Good News

The much-anticipated second season of the musical adult cartoon Hazbin Hotel arrives on the streaming platform soon, and fan speculation has been rampant.

Season 1 introduces a large cast of personalities residing in Hell and Heaven, sets them at odds with musical numbers detailing their conflicts, and builds heated competitions and angsty, affectionate connections that drive fan obsession.

The fandom's stated hopes for season 2 differ greatly, but certain threads recur frequently: Will Angel Dust break free from Valentino? Will we find out more about the mysterious "deal" affecting the enigmatic Alastor? Will [favorite character] and [other character] finally get together?

"Naturally, I don't make the show with audience demands specifically in mind," the creator commented earlier this year. "However I believe that me being a devotee of the series implies there's a lot of it just inherently. I also am eager for these things, and I want some of these things to happen, and obviously some of these things are meant to happen in the show!"

She reveals her long-term vision is for a five-season run of Hazbin Hotel. Future installments have already been green-lit by Prime Video and A24, which finance the series.

That could imply viewers have to be patient for some of the biggest payoffs — but they may be surprised at how fast season 2 moves, and how many of what they're anticipating unfolds this season.

"I feel like people are going to be highly satisfied," she adds. "We get some firsts. I think we get some incredible disclosures, some fascinating origin tales, and even just simple things, [like] I hope this character gets a song. […] Audiences will experience much more singing from the characters we didn't get to hear before."

The creator is well-informed of the theories and desires about the upcoming season — especially in the format of audience prediction charts.

"I've seen a few fans create a bingo card about season 2," she says. "Obviously I can't post it, but I've already completed a few items, and almost all of them have almost a bingo. I thought, Oh, if you put this [event] in this spot, it would be a bingo. So that leads me to believe we accomplish much [of what fans are waiting for in this season], because I was like, Oh, there's multiple potential bingos on this card. So that makes me happy."

Hazbin Hotel season 2 launches on Prime Video on Oct. 29.
